Horizontal, heavy duty, four (4) tie bar type, mechanical forging machine -
with upset forging power of 250 tonnes, gripping power of 315 tonnes,
continuous cycle operating speed of 80 strokes/minute and nominal capacity to
forge bars of up to 50mm diameter.
Four (4) tie bar construction forging machine, with horizontally acting
upsetting/heading slide (stroke of 228.6mm, tonnage of 250 tonnes, gather of
127mm and tool holder space of 405 x 150 x 275mm), vertical/down-acting
gripper slide (stroke of 139.7mm, tonnage of 315 tonnes and die space of 505 x
330 x 140mm) with overload protection, moving bottom die/bolster carriage,
tool holder set (with heated top and bottom die bolsters) 18.5 KW. A.C. drive
motor, drive/crankshaft mounted combined flywheel/air friction clutch and air
friction brake assemblies, machine guarding, light guard type operator
guarding, pressurized oil lubrication system, electrical switchgear/control
cabinet and all operator controls.
Installed new in the mid 1970's, well maintained and offered for sale in very
good condition.
